Iraida "the fighter" Bermudez went home to fly with the Angels on Tuesday, April 27th, 2021 at the age of 82. Iraida was born in Utuado, Puerto Rico and later moved to New Jersey where she raised six children on her own, Wilson, Miriam, Abel, Daniel, Robert and Michael. Iraida also had seven grandchildren, Lizette, Wil Jr., Abe Jr., Simone, Briella, Amaya, Maxim; and two great-grandchildren, Mya and Lyla. Iraida was one of six siblings, Digna, Maria, Dilma, Felix, and Amy; and daughter of Geronimo Gonzalez and Maria Rivera. Iraida was a longtime employee of Lockheed Martin until she had to retire early due to the beginning of her long journey as a courageous fighter against her illness for 30+ years. Throughout all of the years she kept a brave face and modeled the strength and determination needed to get through each day to her family and loved ones despite the challenges. She was the picture of strength, a true warrior, and our hero. She will be forever remembered, deeply missed, and always loved by her family and her spirit will be kept alive through the strength and courage she instilled within those around her. A MESSAGE FROM HER CHILDREN: Mom, you taught us how to be strong and that strength will live on in us and our children. We love you more than words can ever say and not a day will go by that you will not be with us in our hearts. A private service will be held for the family. Flowers are appreciated and can be ordered by clicking the tribute store link below.
