Henry George Helmar of Moorestown, NJ passed away on Friday, October 27, 2017 at his residence with his wife at his side. He was 86 years old.
Henry was born in Stanford Connecticut on January 27, 1931. Son of the late Albert and Bertha Helmar and brother to the late Albert Helmar. He worked with his father as a roofer until he joined the United States Army. He served his country fighting in the Korean War. When he came home we worked for Connecticut Transit for 28 years. He was the President of the Agminated Transit Union for 16 of those years before he retired and moved to New Jersey. Henry was a member in the Bulldog Club of America and the Bulldog Club of Philadelphia for many years. He was an AKC judge and was a Professional Handler of Bulldogs for many years. He enjoyed the sport of raising and showing dogs.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Cheryl. He has an adopted son, Kyle Rapp and his lovely wife Gina, 5 grandchildren: Gina Marie, Angelea, Sergio, Romeo, and Rocko and one great grandchild: Julian.
There will be a graveside service held at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at 1 PM.
