Carol Elizabeth Johnson (Lynn), age 62, of Maple Shade NJ passed away on December 10, 2019. Born and raised in Philadelphia to parents John (predeceased) & Betty Lynn, she attended Frankford Highschool & in her 20's went on to work with patients as a dietary aide at Kennedy Hospital in Philadelphia PA where she was adored by every life she touched. Little did she know one night out on the town would change everything. A cab company owner jumped at the opportunity to drive Carol & her cousin home from McDougal's Disco which was connected to a little French restaurant, hoping for a chance to ask her on a date. After many attempts, and a dozen of Lavender Roses, she finally said yes & fell in love with her soulmate, little did she know Lavender would become her favorite color for everything!! Years later with love overflowing and their only child Jillian on the way they tied the knot at City Hall. Carol was said to have been the most beautiful and radiant woman both during her pregnancy & after she delivered.
After giving birth to Jillian, Carol became a full time mom & homemaker. Carol & Ray were married for over 30 years truly as each other's ride or die. They never held anything back (good or bad) & at the end of the day they would do anything for each other. Not only was Carol a devoted wife, but the best mom a girl could ask for. She was her daughter's best friend and personal diary, never sugar coating and telling it like it was with a genuine heart. They bonded throughout their lives, enjoying early morning Dunkin' & Target runs & loving their time together with frequent Mother's Day and Birthday trips to Atlantic City. Her grandchildren were blessed with the most amazing, loving, and caring Mimi EVER. Among so many amazing roles that she played, biggest fan of her grandchildren was closest to her heart. No matter what, Mimi did everything in her power to put smiles on her grandchildren's faces, whether it was squirting whip cream in their mouths or having them sleepover, she made sure they knew just how much she loved them. Jillian has been told time and time again how much everyone loved her mom, because "a conversation with Carol was priceless". Carol's family will carry on her traditions such as making a big deal out of EVERY holiday & birthday, attempting to make her famous potato salad, macaroni salad & tuna-roni as well as vacationing at her favorite place, Rehoboth beach.
Devoted wife of Raymond F. Johnson. Loving mother of Jillian (Dominic) Affatato. Dear Mimi to Bella, Dominic, and Vincent. Also survived by her canine companions Prancer and Chilli Bean. She is now our guardian angel.
You will always be loved, always be missed, and always be in our hearts.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Carol's memorial gathering on Wednesday evening, December 18th 6-7pm at Eichel Funeral Home, 8323 Maple Ave. Pennsauken, NJ 08109.
